Happy 18th Birthday, Nathan!!!

Nathan turns 18!!

This guy is one of the most fun and friendliest guys I know.  The amount of people at his party is evidence for sure.  He loves his friends, both church and school, and loves hosting events at our house.  In an effort to get through all the movies on his “must watch” list, he hosts a movie night most every Sunday night after church choir rehearsal.  His favorite movie is Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.   He is a storyteller in every sense of the word, and he has become very involved in D&D this year hosting a few different groups.  They are hilarious, and I love listening to their adventures.

Nathan teaches 1st grade Sunday school, and he is also a student leader with the 7th graders which he plans continuing next year while in college.  He also sings in our church's Highschool choir.  His dreams after graduation are to take a 1-2 week long trip west to drive and explore the country in an effort to become a more creative storyteller with adventures to tell.  He loves all aspect of movies, and he can hang with the best critic analyzing every facet of the technical aspects of each movie he watches.  We’ve told him for years that he could already be famous if he would just start a movie critic youtube channel.   He can’t wait to begin making his own films and telling all the stories he has floating around in his head when he attends KD Conservatory next fall.

It’s hard to believe that he has officially been homeschooled (with the help of an amazing enrichment program since Kinder an dual credit classes) the entire way through! He will graduate in May. YAY!!!  His favorite subjects this year are Forensics and Current Events.

A few of his other favorite things are coffee, eating out with friends, hosting events, wrestling and cuddling with his new dog Mikey, sleeping (haha!), and all his friends.  He is the most sentimental of the boys, and he loves family traditions. Nathan also has one of the most sincere and devoted walks with the Lord.  He’s seen first hand the power of the Holy Spirit in his life and redemption which has given him an incredible understanding and empathy towards friends.

We are so excited to see all that the Lord has in store for Nathan as he pursues his dreams.  For now, we’re just going to enjoy each moment watching him finish out his senior year.  He’s so amazing, and we are so very proud of him!!  These past 18yrs leave us in complete awe at the goodness of God allowing us to be his parents.  We love you, Nathan, more than all the blankets in the world!!!!!  (He loves his blankets.  J )
