Bubba turns double digits - 10!!

Our little Bubba-nator turned 10!
And what a handsome little-man our 10yr old is!

This was his off year for a birthday party, so we had a
family party with his grandparents, and then he took a friend
to one of his favorite places - Main Event.  Two of his
favorite things right now are bacon & Minecraft!  So, since
his brother had a Minecraft party in October, I decided to make
his birthday them "Bacon".  I made him a bacon shirt, and we got him
a bacon wallet and 4 packages (60 pieces!) of pre-cooked bacon that
he can cook for himself whenever he wants!  We honestly don't
eat a lot of bacon because it's just not that healthy, so he's really
enjoyedhis gift!!  His big gift did have to do with Minecraft though.
He got an Ipod Touchfrom us and his grandparents. It's quite
the upgrade from the Leapster he got when he was 4!  :)

He wasn't excited at all about his Ipod!

Bubba and his Grandpa share the same birth-day!

Bubba is in 4th grade this year and is doing very well both
in homeschool and at his enrichment program.   He thrives
in almost every subject, but he'll be quick to tell you that
his least favorite is Language.  :)  He has such a creative imagination
but does tend to get a complete writers block during
writing assignments. His favorite subject is spelling and man, can
Bubbaspell!!  He has 20 words each week on his curriculum and
wealways take a pre-test before starting to see what he knows
beforehe looks at the words. He is in 5th grade Language/Spelling
and there haveonly been 2 weekswhere he missed a spelling word!
We had planned to put him in the homeschool UIL spelling
bee this year butdecided to wait until next year.

Some of Bubba's favorites:
eating, acting (Improv), his cowboy boots,
his dogs, his brothers, his friends & family, his blankets,
playing football, Army/Airforce, reading, music, rollerblading
and playing street hockey, bacon, Minecraft, Lego's, movies,
learning guitar, climbing on the hallway walls, and he does still
love to dress up and go battle the bad guys in our backyard.

If I could describe Bubba in just one word it would be: Character!!
He is the kid that can keep us rolling with his hilarious improv skits
and his skill with putting a "play" on words.  I've met people that
could remember lines to movies and he's just that person!
His stories follow the same train of thought - they goon forever as
he tells in detail whatever he just watched. Thankfully, this also
applies to his knowledge of Bible stories.   If I can't remember
something, he's the one I go to!Bubba is also our most sensitive
and compassionate child.  He is much like his Mom in
wanting to abide by  rules/laws...well, at least he wants others to.
He is deeply offended when they don't or whenother's make
bad decisions. Needlessto say, we've learned a lot about grace
this year and we've hada lot of friends to pray for at night. ;)

Below are just a snippet of my favorite "Bubba" photos.  Enjoy!

Bubba was an amazing running-back and usually scored several
touchdowns.a game.  They also won the Championship!

Bubba dressed up as an Airforce Fighter Pilot for his school career day.

our family, church friends, and neighbor friends.
(The picture doesn't show the large crowd)

We have "Artist Wednesday" during homeschool each week.  This
particular week was learningabout sculpting clay...and Bubba's
special Mr. President.  He really was trying his best to make
him look "real" with the mustache and hair lines.  The
ears just didn't work out...haha!

Bubba's Adoption Day.   We got him a Build-A-Bear bear many
years ago for his adoption day.  So, now he chooses a new outfit
for him each year.  This year we ordered him a Tuxedo! (not shown.)

This is what happens while rollerblading and jumping ramps
several times...and then of all things having a "leaf" get in your way!
(He is recovering well and is almost back to normal)
