CUDDLY - So, we’ll start with one of my most favorite things about Bubba. He LOVES his cuddle time every morning. If I’m still in my bed when he gets up, then I get 10 extra minutes of sweet cuddles – YEAH! If I’m already up, I get a 10min break to sit on the couch snuggled! What mom wouldn’t love this?! :)
ACTOR - I’m pretty sure that in 10yrs from now we will find Bubba wanting to be on broadway somewhere. He is such an animated character. The older he becomes the more elaborate his costumes are too! Needless to say, the entire lower portion of their walk-in closet is ALL dress-up. These days he especially enjoys going outside and battling the bad-guys in our backyard. Sometimes he’s a ninja turtle, sometimes a police or superhero, sometimes a character from a movie or sometimes he’s BibleMan quoting verses to the tree’s! He can climb up to the top of our wooden playground now so I often wonder what those driving by think as they see him 15 feet in the air with a sword in hand. Haha! Most of the time he has the assistance in battle with his side-kick brothers!
BROTHERLY- He is such an amazing brother with the heart of gold. He is for sure our compassion child who cares about how everyone is doing, that no one is in trouble and longs to make things right when they are. On several occasions, he’s offered to take the punishment for one of them – now that’s a true brother!!! Bubba is going to be a mighty warrior for Christ with his love for others and I can’t wait to see the ways God is going to use him.
KARATE - Bubba is still going strong in Karate and is now a blue belt. He plans to continue his karate education until he reaches black belt level AND he’s really good!! We are so proud of his hard work and persistence in learning this skill. (Bubba also plays soccer & loves swimming!)
LOVES JESUS - Bubba has also grown tremendously in his love for the Lord. He’s our little “conviction” around the house who calls us out when we haven’t read our bible, prayed, sang worship or are not acting according to Godly standards. He LOVES rules, just like his mommy! When I try to switch up school out of order or do something different, he’s the first to say, “Ummm, but, wait…that’s not right”. He easily adjusts but he is always the first to notice! For a month or so we were constantly made aware of the speed limit as we passed each sign and was asked how fast we were going! We just had to grin and bear it! But I’m SO glad he grew out of that phase!
But he does like him some Phineas and Ferb too!) :)
INTELLIGENT - He is doing remarkable in 1st grade and is currently doing all 2nd-3rd grade work. Bubba picks things up so quickly and loves reading and math. He is SO witty and especially is good with word plays. He seems to find a connection to everything. His teachers adore him and I was recently told by his Spanish teacher that he is the best speller she has in the entire school! His main 1st grade enrichment teacher constantly comments on how funny he is which is SOooo true! I totally see him as the clown of any class making jokes about everything! If he’s anything like he is during homeschool, I can only imagine!! :) Bubba is a very efficient child with his schooling too. Regardless of what is going on around him, he is easily able to stay focused on a task without distraction. Needless to say, he’s usually the first one finished with school every day! Whoohoo!

Since Bubba just filled out a Student of the Week page for this next week, I’ll share what he put as his favorite things – color-blue; animal-dog; food-pizza; book-Lego book; sport-soccer and karate; thing to do in school-recess; thing to do at home – legos; when I grow up I want to be a – policeman.
Bubba decided to have a Medieval tournament for his birthday party like he attended last year for his birthday. It was AMAZING and so fun!! It took several weeks worth of work researching, designing, planning and building but it was ALL worth it for the day he had. He made a toast during his banquet feast, “Who here thinks this is the best party EVER?!” Yeah, that made it all worth it for this mom– TOTALLY! He had a great time and all but one of his friends from school came, 16 boys in all!! You can see all the fun pictures below.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BUBBA!!!! You are such an incredible joy in our life and we love you to heaven and back a GOOGLE times! (that’s his favorite number!)
