Happy Fall & Merry Christmas

This post will begin just like all the others...with an apology for my endless tardiness in keeping this blog updated.  We've had a wonderful Fall and Christmas Season with many adventures and tons of wonderful family moments.  Enjoy!

The school year started just like any other...with sighs.  Earlier bedtimes with sighs, earlier wake-up calls with sighs, and what seemed like a lot more work this year with sighs.   :)  There is one part of school you will never hear a sigh from any of them though and that's on Monday and Friday's when they attend their enrichment program.   They still love every minute of it.  And in all honesty, the do still love homeschooling too.  :)  I will say though that having one in 5th (6th/7th grade work), one in 4th (5th/6th grade work) and one in 1st grade does keep this mom's brain moving quicker than a bullet train.  They are all doing very well though, so I guess we're doing something right.  :)

Below are a few pieces of their art from the year.

This year Bubba B. also started playing the Clarinet and
joined the 5th grade band at school.
He is really enjoying it.  Little C. would love to join him!

Also this year, Bubba and Little Bubba both journeyed
into the world of flag football. I was truly amazed at
their ability and Bubba's instant understanding of
the game.  He made touchdowns every game and their
team even ended up winning the Championship!
Champions!

October 2013
One of our favorite events each year is our church's
City Ministry camp-out.  Our boys love the outdoors
so it puts them right in their element.  This year our family
even performed at the Talent Show to "What does the Fox Say?"

 November Pilgrimage 2013
Each November our family takes a pilgrimage back to simpler days.
We put away all electronic devices and attempt
to live as pilgrims in this technological age.  It's not an easy task!
Little Bubba learns the game of "Marbles"
 The boys made homeade butter.
They even spent DAYS building forts with dixie cups!

Mom and Dad ran in Dad's Corporate 5K race.
Little Bubba learned how to make a wigwam and then slept in it.

 Thanksgiving 2013
The boys made Turkeys for Thanksgiving dinner.

December 2013
Putting up the tree each year requires three important items -
The Christmas Nail, the Star, and the First Ornament.

Icemageddon
North Texas received about 6-8inches of pure sleet this Dec.
Can I just say how much more fun it is sledding
on ice than it is sledding on snow!!  ZOOM!
Due to the cold temps, the ice stayed around for more than a week
which gave us plenty of opportunity for FUN!

School Program
The boys' school program this year was a
special treat with Brady playing a clarinet solo and also having a
hilarious character part in the 5th grade play.

 Misc Christmas
Ice skating
Making Reindeer food (aka Puppy Show or Muddy Buddies)
Bubba wanting desperately to look like Si  from Duck Dynasty. LOL!
Attending a local church's Christmas Celebration
The boys collected coats for the needy and donated them.
They were able to get a fun picture with Santa at the drop-off location!
